Aloha Ahimsa Foundation

We have conducted various workshops in schools, colleges, and in collaboration with educational institutions to integrate animal welfare into the education system. These sessions aim to teach students about sentience, compassion, and the importance of animal welfare.

Marwadi University, Rajkot

January 2025
A brainstorming session was held on January 14, 2025, at Marwadi University to develop on-campus and community-based animal welfare initiatives. Faculty from various departments proposed ideas such as establishing a veterinary center, organizing vaccination drives, and launching awareness campaigns. Academic project suggestions included using AI for animal health monitoring and researching plant-based nutrition. Action plans were set for forming an Animal Welfare Club, conducting outreach activities, and integrating animal welfare topics into academic courses. Plans for formalizing the partnership through an MoU were also discussed.

ASoSE, Lajpat Nagar

December 2024
A workshop on animal sentience was conducted at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Specialised Excellence, Lajpat Nagar, in collaboration with Divya Gupta, under the Department of Education’s initiative Literaria. The workshop featured a presentation and Q&A session to introduce the concept of animal sentience. Students engaged in a digital reading activity with graphic novels and a painting activity, where they expressed the theme by designing T-shirts. One of the most enjoyed moments of the day was when students got their pictures clicked with Henry the Hen.

Testo College, Dimapur

September 2024
A seminar was organized by Tetso College, Dimapur in collaboration with Aloha Ahimsa Foundation on Nurturing Compassion for Animals on 6th September 2024 in Dimapur. The topics covered in the seminar were Animal Rights, Conservation, Animal Welfare, Five Freedoms, and Poor and Higher Welfare for Animals.

CIET 5th Workshop

September 2024
A workshop is scheduled with the NCERT on ‘Puns in English’, to be conducted from 23rd to 27th September 2024. Dr. Asher Jesudoss & Ms. Swaswati Borkataki represented AAF in this workshop.

CIET 4th Workshop

August 2024
Dr. Asher Jesudoss and Mr. Vipul Jain from Aloha Ahimsa Foundation were invited to participate in a script-writing workshop for the NCERT Class 6 English textbook – Poorvi from 12th to 16th August 2024 at the Central Institute of Educational Technology, National Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi. They wrote 4 scripts on the chapters – Rama to the Rescue, Kites, Neem Baba, and What a Bird Thought. They also assisted other teams with animal welfare content and ideas in the following chapters – An Unlikely Friendship and Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat.

Marwadi University, Rajkot

August 2024
A workshop held at Marwadi University in July covered animal sentience, sustainable development, and practical approaches to animal welfare. Students engaged in discussions on plant-based diets, cultural practices, and suggested ideas like animal prosthetics and alternatives to animal testing. The workshop also led to the formation of an Animal Welfare Club and plans for campus initiatives, including dog mapping, vaccination drives, and introducing plant-based food options in the cafeteria.

DPSG Faridabad

July 2024
The Aloha Ahimsa Foundation assisted the AWBI in facilitating a 5-day workshop to create awareness on animal welfare, human-animal relationship, and sustainable living from 10th to 12th July 2024. The modules were created by our partner organization, ODSS. The training was imparted by resource persons from the AWBI and the Aloha Ahimsa Foundation in two separate sessions for primary and secondary school students in DPSG, Faridabad.

Pathways World School

June 2024

Workshop with Pathways World School conducted in June 2024. This workshop had participants from Classes 1 to 5 and covered the following topics:

  1. Sentience
  2. Vulnerability
  3. 5 Freedoms
  4. Happy animals vs Sad animals
  5. Actions that can be taken by the students to alleviate the suffering of animals

CIET 3rd Workshop

June 2024
Dr. Asher Jesudoss was invited to participate in a ‘Fun with Language’ session at the CIET, NCERT, where children were introduced to concepts of farmed animal welfare and informed about the meaning of words such as captivity, factory farms, conservation, battery cages, etc. through fun and interactive games such as charades, pictionary and word building.

CIET 2nd Workshop

March 2024
The Aloha Ahimsa Foundation participated in a 3 day script-writing workshop from 14th to 16th March, 2024, on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, where the team developed 10 scripts on animal-related topics that aimed at creating awareness amongst children while learning to read and count. The Foundation was represented by Dr. Asher Jesudoss and Ahimsa Fellows – Virendra Singh and Rhiddhi Patel.

CIET 1st Workshop

November 2023
